Shawn the Plumber is the self-owned business of Shawn Smith on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Mr. Smith was a plumbing apprentice for years before being able to start his own business.

He was simply looking for a logo for business cards, vehicle decals and website, but wasn't sure what he wanted. Since it was a new business, undercurrent researched vintage trade signage and created a logo with a retro feel to give the impression of having been around longer than it had, as well as being reminescent of the friendly, quality service from the 1950's.
